Tournament Cheat Gets 15 Days in Jail Fine

A Rockwell, Texas, court found Robbie Rose guilty of grand theft for cheating at a fishing tournament. The almost-winner of the Bud Lite Big Bass Tournament had tried to win the grand prize, a $55,000 boat.

At stake was not only cheating but fraudulently trying to win the prize.
Rose was also fined and given a five-year suspension of his fishing license and probation. Officials noticed the nine-pound fish coundn´t swim, but sank, raising doubt.

Rose had shoved a 1-pound weight down the fish´s gullet. Officials wanted to cut open the fish but Robbie "regurgitated" the fish so it could be spared from slaughter and released alive.
