Chinese authorities are pouring into a Tibetan region scouring for survivors. Buildings were decimated in western Yushu county. Roughly 85% of buildings are destroyed.
It is said the victims can be heard crying in pain and desperation. Poor building designs and lax enforcement of building codes are suspected for most of the destruction.
