New Study: Sleeping Consistently Less Than Six Hours Can Kill You

A new study by academics in the UK and Italy gives new information on the link between lack of sleep and an increased risk of premature death.

The researchers found that people who generally sleep for less than six hours per night are 12% more likely to die prematurely. The same applies to people who sleep more than nine hours per night.

"Consistently sleeping six to eight hours per night may be optimal for health," says a professor. The analyzed data comes from 16 separate studies conducted in Europe, the US and Asia over 25 years. More than 1.3 million peeople have been tested.
