Australian Member of Parliament Shocked by $10,000 iPhone Bill

MP Russell Wortley was shocked by the $10,000 smartphone bill he received when usually his phone bill was a total of about $200. It seems that his 13-year-old son used his taxpayer-funded phone to download football games.

Wortley expressed dismay that he could be charged as much as $4,000 an hour for his son to either download or play a game. It seems also that while the phone was capable of such things, the plan he had did not cover the games.

He also expressed his thoughts that parents should check the plans with a fine-tooth comb, and has even taken the bill up with the Communication Minister and Australian Mobile Telecommunication Association.
