iPad Ban Lifted in Israel

Apple may start to send iPads to Israel after the government lifted a ban on the device. Israel had banned the iPad over fears that it would interfere with other gadgets, and the government´s Communications Ministry undertook tests on the iPad.

The ban was put in place before the release on the 3rd of April. The international release of the iPad has been pushed back to May, with the company saying that demand is too strong in the US.

Ministry spokesperson Yechiel Shabi said: "We have nothing against Apple products. We like the iPhone here in Israel." The ministry denied that the ban was actually over fears that the iPad´s wireless signal could interfere with military equipment.
