The 1964 Aston Martin driven by Sean Connery´s James Bond character in "Goldfinger" and "Thunderball" is going under the hammer and is expected to fetch over US$5 million at the auction. The car was bought in 1969 by US broadcaster, Jerry Lee.
He paid US$12,000 at the time. The Aston Martin is fitted with all the gadgets from the film, including a tracking device, revolving number plates, a nail spreader, a smoke screen, an oil sprayer, a removable panel in the roof, and machine guns.
Lee, who bought the car in the hopes that profit from it would advance his charitable work, said: "The James Bond car has brought me much enjoyment for some 40 years. The car will continue to give me great pleasure as it furthers the mission..."
