Mexico and South Africa End in Draw at World Cup Opening Game

Siphiwe Tshabalala scored for South Africa in the 55th minute and Rafael Marquez scored for Mexico in the 79th minute as South Africa tied Mexico 1-1 in the 1st game of the 2010 world cup.

The Mexicans had most of the chances, dominating the 1st half, but the South Africans came out strong in the 2nd half, even hitting the post at the 90th minute, which would have put them ahead 2-1.

Later Friday, France and Uruguay face each other in the other Group A match.
