A taxi driver in New Orleans is facing charges after he was accused of locking the doors of his cab on a Texan tourist and trying to extort a 10% tip from his passenger. He will be charged with extortion and false imprisonment.
37-year-old Sohail Kahn has had his permit seized by the New Orleans Taxicab Regulation Bureau. His passenger, a 57-year-old woman who argued with Kahn for half an hour over the airport fare, called emergency services from her mobile phone.
