New York: 33-year-old Debrahlee Lorenzana is suing Citigroup, claiming they dismissed her because her looks were proving too distracting for male employees. Her attorney suggested the dismissal was also retaliation for sexual harassment complaints.
Lorenzana alleges her bosses ordered her not to wear heels, fitted suits, turtlenecks, or pencil skirts to work so she wouldn´t distract the men. Citigroup says the case lacks merit, claiming they foster an inclusive and respectful workplace.
"Never did I ever show cleavage. I like fashion, but I always dressed professionally. I can´t help it that I have curves. And I´m not going to go eat and gain 50 or 100 pounds because my job wants me to be the same size as everyone else," she said.
