For those wanting a great view of a popular fireworks festival in Tokyo, the Hotel New Otani Tokyo has some accommodation plans just for that purpose.

The plans guarantee that guests will have rooms facing the Jingu Gaien Fireworks Festival to be held on Aug. 19.
The Hanabi Yado plan, from ¥67,000 to ¥76,000 per person, double occupancy, provides guests with a Japanese Suite in The Main building, from where the fireworks can be seen from the floor-to-ceiling windows. The plan includes a sushi course for dinner prepared in the room by a chef dispatched from the well-regarded sushi restaurant Kyubey while you enjoy the fireworks. The plan also includes breakfast in the room or at one of the hotel's four restaurants, along with free use of the hotel's outdoor pool.
There is also the simpler Hanabi plan, starting from ¥22,000 per person, double occupancy, with a Standard Room or a Quality Double Room, including breakfast at the hotel's restaurants.

The Pan Pacific Yokohama Bay Hotel Tokyu is featuring Hawaiian dishes at its buffet restaurant Cafe Tosca through Aug. 31.
The hotel's Night Kitchen Stadium in Hawaii takes place while Yokohama's Osanbashi area kicks off its annual Hawaii-themed event, Aloha Yokohama, from July 16 to 19. On Aug. 20, there will be hula dance show performed by a Japan Airlines cabin attendant team.
At Cafe Tosca, enjoy fresh spring rolls with your choice of ingredients, roast pork wrapped in banana leaves, lomi salmon, poke raw fish salads and other Hawaiian-themed dishes amid the restaurant's palm trees, evoking a tropical atmosphere. Hawaiian beer and original tropical cocktails are available at additional cost.
The buffet is available for dinner only (5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.) and costs ¥4,700 on weekdays and ¥5,600 on weekends, holidays and during the Bon holiday period (Aug. 9-13) for those over age 12, and ¥2,800 daily for children between 6 and 12 years old. There will be a Kids Corner serving items especially popular with children on weekends and during the Bon holiday period.

Timed with France's national sporting event, the Tour de France, the Ritz-Carlton Osaka's French restaurant La Baie is holding a culinary fair that introduces local dishes from the areas along the cycling race's course.
For example, through July 14, the fair features smoked eel, a specialty of Belgium; steamed lobster to represent Nord-Pas de Calais; and sorbet using Genepi, a liquor of the Rhone-Alpes area. From July 15 to 25, the day the race ends, raw ham from the Pyrenees and duck breast from the Charentes region are among the featured items.
A four-dish lunch course costs ¥7,900 and a six-dish dinner course costs ¥13,500. Lunch is from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and dinner is from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
