iPad on Sale in Europe and Asia - Long Lines and Eager Buyers

On Friday Apple´s new tablet computer, the iPad, went on sale in Europe and Asia and caused long lines in the shops in London, Paris, Frankfurt and Tokyo. In Frankfurt hundreds of buyers already came at 3 a.m. to snatch one of the popular devices.

"If I was a music fan, it would be the launch of a Lady GaGa album in the U.S.," comedian Stephen Fry said about the launch of Apple´s newest product. In the United States already, a million units have been sold in only 28 days.

After workers at a Chinese factory that produces iPads committed suicide, concerns about working conditions were raised. In a statement, Apple however, responded that the conditions for workers are safe and that they are treated with respect.
