Study: Pesticide Exposure May Contribute to ADHD

According to a new study, there is a connection between exposure pesticides and symptoms of ADHD. In the study, the levels of pesticide byproducts in the urine of 1,139 children have been measured.

Those with above-average levels of a certain byproduct are twice as likely to get ADHD. The pesticide exposures are linked to behavioral problems and cognitive deficits of children and can can contribute to inattention, hyperactivity, etc.

Even if the direct cause-and-effect link between pesticides and ADHD is not easy to prove, there is a relation between a certain pesticide exposure, organophosphates, and the development of ADHD.
